Candy Corn Cupcakes for the Holidays
It's time for the Holidays! And with the holidays comes all sorts of fun baking in the kitchen. This recipe is one of those fun festive things to make for either Halloween or Thanksgiving, with customization options for how to decorate with candy corn or other things.
This recipe is on my blog, as well! Check it out here: Michael's Test Kitchen
Enjoy!
Ingredients:
Makes 12 cupcakes
1 box white cake mix
Frosting:
¾ cup butter, softened
3-4 cups confectioners sugar
1 ½ teaspoons vanilla
Dash of salt
3 tablespoons milk
The Mix
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Make cake batter according to box instructions.
Pour cake batter into prepared cupcake muffin liners, and bake in preheated oven for around 15 minutes, until slightly golden on the tops, and when a toothpick inserted through the top comes out clean.
Cool.
Take out of oven, and let cool.
Frosting
Meanwhile, prepare the vanilla buttercream frosting. Whisk the frosting ingredients in a small bowl. Add more confectioners sugar if the mixture is too watery, and add more milk if too clumpy and thick.
Frost It
Apply the frosting to the cooled cupcakes in a simple spiral or however you feel like decorating them.
Press candy corn uniformly around the rim of the cupcakes, holding them in place with the frosting.
