Can You Guess, What I Make?

Here is a task for you all, to guess what I make as part of this instructable! A challenge for a challenge...:p whatever..:D I am not gonna reveal it until the conclusion! I got your mind voice ‘Aaaah, one more UNTOLD secret....?!' Just relax, I am not gonna trouble you all to make watch another video kind...:p, but a video of another kind..:) Hehehe...:D

Btw, for easy reference i term the object as X to relate it in my steps!

Cardboard

Galvanised iron string

Cutting plier

Scissors (Bigger - to cut metal string ; Medium & small - to cut cardboard)

White glue

Rubber based synthetic adhesive

Small toy ball - 1

Pencil, eraser, measuring scale - to draw on the cardboard, to cut out appropriately

Acrylic paint - black

Colour sketches - black, dark green, light green

Cellulose tape - to stick at some places

Thin(circuit-making) wires - green

Creating base, means we are gonna create the basic structure of the object X we build in this instructable.

Whether it is X, or any other object you create with inspiration from my instructable; At first we need to create the backbone/outline structure.

I used the cutting plier and bent the strings at appropriate places. Cut wherever required with the help of the big scissor. So here's the set of pictures with this step, you find how i made the basic structure of the object X.

We created the basic structure. But we are not gonna use it as it is.

We have to shape it further to look better. So i used the cutting plier and beaten it all over the basic structure.

You can compare the final picture in the previous step, with the final picture in this current step. You can see the difference.

Like how cardboard has multiple usage in every other instructables here, i have used the peeled out part of the cardboard layer as a skin for the body. I further cut the layers to thin, long strips and used it.

These layers were glued (with white glue) all over the string, covering the hand and leg part. Now, the result is the that cardboard layer is stick well to the strings.

Here's the result of the Phase I of the making of X.

Now, for the body part we use the cardboard carry bag. I just inverted outside to inside, to get the non-printed part. We use this non-printed part, to make it aligned to the basic structure.

Fold it according to the structure, then use white glue to seal the open side.

In this step, we will add scale layer to X. Earlier, we peeled out the cardboard and used it for the thin skin. Now with the same peel out cardboard sheets i would be making the 'Scale layer'.

Let's cut the peeled out layer to small pieces and paste it all over the surface of X. You can see how it is made, with the help of the attached pictures.

Do note, while applying glue i spread it over only at some parts here and there. And did not apply all over the pieces. This will help to make this layer, look as scales over the body of X.

Here's the result of the Phase II of the making of X.

For the head part, i used the same inverted sheet of the cardboard carry bag i referred in previous step.

I measured the body with measuring tape and used the carry bag sheet in appropriate size (a head for a human body ratio).

I sealed the open end with cellulose tape. Thus the head will now look cylindrical.

For the bigger and brighter eye ball(clue..:p), i just pulled out the ball from a play toy. Luckily, i was able to make the ball open into two pieces (if not, i could have cut them into two pieces).

To both the blue and yellow colour part, i applied the black acrylic paint. Let it dry!

For the hands actually the palms, drew the palm structure with pencil on the thin peeled out cardboard sheet. Cut them into shape. Now, we have four palms. We will stick two pieces of it, together.

I used white glue to stick one palm with the other. I did NOT apply glue near the wrist, so that i can attach it to the hands.

I used brown, dark green sketches to draw lines all over the scale (all over the body).

Here's the result of the Phase III of the making of X.

Before making face features to the head part, i measured it and marked with pencil at appropriate places.

Eye ball (outer layer):

I marked the centre point, and drew the eyes and mouth part on the sides of it. If we do not measure and mark, it may not look proper.

Mouth:

I cut the mouth part slowly and carefully with sharp stainless steel blade. Coloured it black acrylic paint, dried it and pasted it from the inner side with white glue. This will make the mouth to look in 2D.

Eye balls (solid base):

I used a medium-sized clay modelling dough empty box, to draw the layer of the eyeballs-base to:

1. Cardboard based carry bag(inner side)

2. Peeled out cardboard sheet layer

Cut them slowly and carefully with a sharp stainless steel blade.

Now, we get four pieces for the eye balls. I used white glue to stick one piece of carry bag sheet eyeball base with one piece of cardboard sheet layer eyeball base. This will help the eyeball to look bulged out.

Finally, making of the eyes:

I used the painted eyeballs (dried over night) and stick it on the outer side of the eyeball base.

To carve out the face (made of folded and sealed carry bag sheet) i measure and marked with pencil on the sides for 3cms, 4cms, 5cms.

I marked at 3 different centimetre scale so that i can see which place when carved out look very appropriate.

At first, i cut the 3cms and see whether it fit the head to the body. As it did not fit better, i cut at 4cms towards 5cms measurement. And folded the 4cms part, so that this will make the head to look 2D.

I used comb to draw lines connecting the centre point marked with pencil to the ear part/cheeks. Comb, helps to draw a bit curved line than a straight line.

Here's the result of the Phase IV of the making of X.

Fixing eyeballs:

I spread the white glue all over the backside of the eyeball base and stick it to the marked eye portion in the face. I used more amount of glue, so that the eyeball gets tightly fixed to the face.

Circuit making wire, for green roots:

Now, for the green roots to be seen i inserted at the scales all over the trunk of the body.

And i used light green, dark green and brown sketches (one after one) to draw lines over the body and the crown part.

I know some of you, would have guessed what i have made out of this instructable.
