Hey guys, today we will share with you our camera slider project. We have seen couple of projects here and there so we decided to give it a try and make our own.

Note: This project was originally made by : Matt

For this project we will need.

1- Wooden Dowel Rods ( 22mm diameter , 1.5 m long). Alternatively, you can use 3/4" pipng , 22mm diameter.

2- MDF wood ( 8mm or 12mm thickness)

3- Rollers

4- Fluid head : you can find it here ( Amazon or eBay )

5- Universal primer.

6- Some M8 washers.

7- M3 Stainless steel Allen Hex Socket Head Cap Screws

Will also need a drill and CNC machine to cut the template.

Cutting and Preparing the Template

Attache with this step is the original template that was originally designed by Matt.

All we did is just cutting the parts using CNC machine.

Then we use the drill to make some holes so we can screw it on the rods later.

After you finish cutting, apply the Universal Primer spray and on the wood and let it dry for couple of minutes.

Assembly

In this step we should really be careful and attach the parts together as accurate as we can .

1- We need to attache the template plates and align them equally with the same distance all the way from the start to the end point of the slider.

2- Make sure when installing the groove guide pulley to make it adjustable and movable.

3- Place the Fluid head and the pulleys as shown in the pictures.

4- Test the project.

Note: it will be very helpful to watch the original How to Make a Professional Camera Slider (100% DIY!)

So, you can follow the steps carefully and avoid making any mistakes since this is the most important step to have really good working slider.

Testing the Slider

Here is a sample video using the slider.

Notes:

1- We can make some adjustments to make the slider even way better using pipes instead of the wooden rods.

2- The wight of the camera can affect the movement, the lighter the cam the better and smoother the movement

3- You can edit the videos and stabilize any shots using software like Adobe Premiere .

Over all, it is really nice project to make and we got some good results out of it. We hope you like it :)
