Prepare to Attach the Lamp
Begin by disassembling the base of the lamp. Use the bit that screws into the bottom of the lamp and attach that to the book. You can do this by drilling a hole into the cover of one of your books and tightening the bit onto it.
Next, you'll need to cut out some of the pages under your bit so the book can close all the way and have room for the nut. Use an x-acto knife and slowly cut away the pages until you are through enough so the book can close.

Glue the Books Together
Now you'll need to glue the books together. Use multipurpose white glue to attach the books together. You'll also need to glue the pages together. Mix together a solution that is half white glue and half water. Brush the glue on the outside of the pages and allow it to dry.
Attach the Camera
All that's left is to glue the camera to the top of the books. Use 2 part epoxy to attach the camera and allow to dry.
Behold Your Creation
Finally, assemble your lamp, attach your lamp shade, screw in your lightbulb, and plug it in!
It makes a great gift that is quite simple and fairly cheap. Perfect for the photographer or antique collector in your life.
Enjoy and please feel free to ask any questions or leave any comments.
