In the working area, create a square of arbitrary size (the larger it is, the easier it is to see the distortion) . When performing calibration, it is better to use black paper, but I did not have one, so I calibrated on a metal surface.

After engraving, we can see that its sides are
not straight lines. There is distortion. The sides of the square are distorted.

In the folder with the Ezcad program, run the Corfile2 - nine-point calibration program

Now when we press F3, the test calibration square will be engraved, and the size of the calibration square can be larger than the laser engraving field. Lay a notoriously large surface right away.

If everything is ready and you are ready to engrave press F3 Nine point calibration .

All numbers will be whole and equal to 50. We measure the resulting square vertically and horizontally. 220x220 is more than 200x200 which I need . We exit it without changing anything and go to the F1 window .

At the bottom right in the Test box size window, we proportionally decrease or increase the number (either by moving the slider, or by pressing the button, we fill in the value), we do it approximately. We need the calibration size of the square to be the size of the engraving field.

The image that is engraved on the surface and on the screen is distinguished by the arrangement of rhombuses and squares.

By pressing the Change image button, we achieve that the location of the rhombus and square coincides with what we received after engraving. Pay attention to the small line near the 5th point.

Now, using a caliper, I begin to transfer the actual dimensions to the calibration fields. For point 7 , the X value measures the deviation from the 5th point along the X axis. The Y value measures the deviation from the 5th point along the Y axis . For the rest of the points, we do everything in the same way. Point 5 is the center, so we take all measurements relative to it. We enter the resulting values. D esyatichnye go through the point , not a comma.

After all the data has been entered, click OK.

In the main menu, press F6 and save the calibration file .

We exit the program. Launch EzCad2, press F3 and load the calibration file that we received (indicate the path to it). If everything is in order with your equipment, we will enjoy the new accuracy. Your accuracy will depend on how well you performed the calibration.

Here's what I got. After calibration, I also made a test square. To make it better visible in the photo, I first sketched the places where the lines will pass with a black marker.
