Hello!
This is a guide for creating a CS:GO Training Butterfly Knife using laser-cut 3mm MDF.
The finish I painted on it is Ultraviolet.
Materials
You will need:
- Acrylic Paint
- 6 x 1/8" Bolts and Nuts
- Superglue
- 3mm MDF board (at least 130 x 200 mm)
- 4 x 1/8" Washers

I used this pattern for laser cutting. The red lines are cutting vectors while the blue lines are engraving vectors.

Testing

After laser cutting, assemble parts to see if they fit.
Handle part near the blade assembly:
Bolt > Handle part > Washer > Blade > Washer > Matching Handle Part > Nut
Handle part far from the blade assembly:
Adjust the distance between the two handle parts and then put a bolt through the farthest hole of the two parts. Secure using a nut.
Stopper Assembly:
Screw the bolts in the two holes in the lower-middle part of the blade. Adjust their lengths accordingly.
After assembling, test if the the handles of the butterfly knife can rotate smoothly. Adjust them if needed and then mark the bolts if they are too long.
Sanding

Sand the parts which you feel that need adjustment. After that, sand the individual parts for easier painting.

Use black acrylic paint for the handle parts and the blade.
Use violet acrylic paint for the small miscellaneous handle parts.

Cut the bolts where you marked them. Sand the bolts afterwards.

Reattach the bolts like what you did in the testing part but put superglue on the nuts so that they will be fixed even when being used.
Superglue the miscellaneous handle parts to the handle. Use the engraving as guide.
Finally, have fun with your new trainer butterfly knife!
