CROCHET SCISSOR COVER

tempPic.jpg

a pair of scissors is an everyday need of our life. and it is very important to handle them carefully especially when you have small kids in your house. it tends to hurt them so it becomes important to keep them away. so i thought instead of keeping them hidden, why not cover them which will be safe for children and also will increase the durability of our pair of scissors. so lets make a scissor cover out of wool by using everyone's favorite technique "crocheting"!! so lets begin with it....

MATERIALS...

a pair of scissors (for which you want to make the cover)

crochet hook (0.95 mm)

yarn

UNDERSTAND...

this is the basic design of how we will crochet the cover

i have used 3 stitches :

1. chain : Step 1: Hold the crochet hook, now with its slip knot, in your right hand and wrap the yarn around your left hand. ...

Step 2: Bring the yarn over the crochet hook from back to front and hook it

2. double crochet : Yarn over, insert hook in the center of next chain, yarn over, draw yarn through stitch, yarn over, draw yarn through 2 loops on hook, yarn over, draw yarn through 2 loops on hook.

3. single crochet : insert hook in the hole of the can tab, yarn over, draw yarn through stitch, [yarn over, draw yarn through 2 loops on hook] 3 times.

continue this process for next 18 rows.

the number of rows and stitches may depend upon the size of the pair of scissors you have taken

but note that each row will have an extra double crochet than the previous one.

i have changed color after every 2 rows.

you can also add multiple colors depending upon your wish.

LAST ROW..
