CNC Machine Buying Tips
In order to pick out the right CNC machine, you need to know what to look for.
Tips
What the machine is made of:
CNC machines are commonly made of aluminum, polymer composite, or cast iron. Cast iron is better for tougher jobs but is way heavier.
The size of the workspace:
If you plan on making something that is 3' x 3' then buy a machine that is slightly larger.
How fast is it:
The feed rate determines how fast you can cut materials. If you are using it as a hobby, then it does not matter that much.
Tips for Buying a Used CNC Machine

It is exactly what it sounds like, the number of hours the machine was used for. Basically the wear and tear.
Price:
If you are buying a used CNC machine it should be significantly cheaper then a new one.
Age:
How old the machine is. You need to know if it can work with newer software.
Does everything work:
It is important to know if there're any limitations.
