CLAY MASK

Steps to make a mask from clay:

1. Clay
2. Clay tools
3. Newspaper
4. Primer
5. Tape
6. Water colour paint

1. Make a sketch of the mask's design .

1. Use newspapers to make the mold for the mask.
2. Make it about the size and shape you want the mask to be.
3. Use tape to fix the shape.

1. Knead the clay with your hands and spread it to the size of your mask.
2. Place the clay on top of the newspaper mold after placing a layer of thin cloth in between.

1. Use the clay tools to cut and shape the mask to your desired design. You can use a reference photo. I have made a 'day of the dead' inspired mask.
2. Cut holes for the eyes.
3. Use some water to smoothen the clay.
4. Once done with the design ,leave it for drying.

1. Once the clay is dried paint using primer on it.
2. Leave it for about 10 minutes to dry.

1. Once the primer is dried , use watercolours and brushes to paint the design.
2. The mask is done!

1. You can make a stand using foam board to display your mask.
