I will be teaching you about fractions!

You will need pencils and erasers

6.1 Divisibility Rules

Here are the divisibility rules below

2 the last digit is even (0, 2, 4, 6, or 8)

3 the sum of the digits is divisible by 3

4 the number formed by the last two digits is

divisible by 2 at least twice

5 the last digit is 0 or 5

6 the number is divisible by both 2 and 3

8 the number is divisible by 2 at least three times

9 the sum of the digits is divisible by 9

10 the last digit is 0

6.2 - 6.3 Add and Subtract Fractions With Like Denominators

Both subtract and addition are very simple

1/4+2/4 =3/4 because 1+2=3, same goes for subtraction

3/4-2/4=1/4 because 3-2=1

For example, at a buy and sell store, there are two basketballs, number 1 takes 1/5 of your car trunk, the other one takes 2/5, how much in total does it take up space in your car trunk. It takes up 3/5 of your car trunk

7.1 - 7.3 Add and Subtract Fractions With Unlike Denominators

v6607 (1).jpg

First, we have to make the denominators the same, for example, 5/20 and 1/5 : 5x4=20 1x4=4 1/5=4/20

Remember, what we do to the bottom, we have to do to the top

When the denominator is the same, just treat it like step 2 above.

A basketball court is 5/20 of a standard size, another one is 1/5 of a standard size, which one is bigger ? The second one is bigger. Same goes for adding and subtracting.

7.4 Add and Subtract Mixed Numbers

That picture above is totally true.

Mixed numbers are a bit more confusing, we have to separate the mixed numbers and the fractions and calculate them separately.

For example, LeBron went to sign a contract, to find some of the contracts are being ripped apart by someone, possibly an angry fan. 1 1/4+2 2/4. so we separate them first, 1/4+2/4=3/4 then 1+2=3 then add them together

3+3/4=3 3/4

Same goes for adding and subtracting
