I modified the case of a CDV-717 Survey instrument to house a TK2050 class D 100watt/channel amplifier and power supply.
I needed something rugged to use as my amp boards enclosure for use in my garage to power a pair of JBL Northridge speakers.
I gutted the 717 including its analog meter to make room for the new components.
In place of the gauge, I used 2 pieces of overlapped aluminum screen (painted flat black) as a means to allow ventilation for the amplifiers cooling fan.  In place of the zeroing adjuster I installed a volume pot, and in place of the rad power multiplier (center under the handle) I installed a female 3.5mm jack for hooking up an I-pod.  Two sets of banana plug 5-way binding posts installed on top allow for quick connection/removal of speaker wires.
