CD Magnet

This simple craft is easy to make, and provides instant gratification (and rainbows) to whatever surface you decide to stick it to.

When going back to school, you can be the first one on your hallway to have one of these nifty CD magnets!

You will need:

-One CD
-A smallish magnet
-A hot glue gun
-The Spring-Loaded CD Holder from a CD player.
(This one still has the motor attached.)

I used a pair of wire cutters through the just-plastic part of the holder. Yours may be different, so use your best judgment as to how to detach it. I was left with a large plastic nub, so I filed it down.

Take your spring-loaded holder and put 4 drops of glue onto it. Be careful not to let it get into the springs! If that happens, it will be quite hard to put on or take off your CD.

Next, press the magnet into the glue. Not too hard, you don't want the glue to be squished over into the springs.

After letting the glue cool down, press the CD onto the holder. I wanted to see the shiny side. However, it is conceivable that you have a disk with an interesting front that you want to look at every time you open your locker. If so, then go ahead and flip it over!

Congrats, you've just added a little more shininess to your otherwise drab and boring locker/refrigerator/other metallic surface!
