CARDBOARD COMPLEX REVIEW
IMG20220606215239.jpg
IMG20220606195309.jpg

Hi friends,

Nice to see you, I made a cardboard complex consists of multiple setup to make our daily things keep all in one place without forgetting them. The main story is.... I always goes finding and finding things everyday, being late to school everyday. As I cannot say the same reason to the teacher when she asks reason that Why I come late? To overcome this problem I found this solution and I also want to make an Habit from now onwards for hygiene home.

Cardboard Complex made of fully cardboard, color papers for beauty and glue for sticking. everybody know cardboard not takes much money to build projects, that I averagely spent 3.0$ (225 rupees).

Cardboard complex consists of

  • 2 Big Sliding racks,
  • 2 Sliding Racks for Medicines & Syrups,
  • 1 Sliding Rack for Data Cables,
  • 1 Sliding Rack for Pen drives,
  • 1 Sliding Rack for Masks,
  • 1 Bending Rack for pens,
  • 1 Secretly Hidden box,
  • 1 Coin Transporter,
  • 1 Coin Storage box.
  • Total storage Boxes = 11, and separately with Mobile phone stand, Music Headset Stand.
  • This all arranged in 12x12inch box.

My views

  • I will try to explain you everything clearly with every image and video or you can directly contact me in comment section.
  • I also want to explain the critical things, issues what I faced during making and I also explain how to recover it.

This Instructable looks very bulky on watching 15steps, but it is so very easy to make, but it is little bit time taken when you made slight mistakes with measurements.

Tips: (Techniques)

  • I given some keyword names to the cardboard parts used in the between instructable, to understand easily
  • I pasted some additional tips through pictures.
  • I also given some tips on colour selection, for easy decision making.
  • I also expressed my future scopes, my ideas what I want to update in future.
  • In future means now cardboard, but tomorrow made of metal.

IMG20220606191217.jpg

KEYWORDS USED IN THIS INSTRUCTABLE

1. Vertical Plane: It is cut piece of cardboard made of certain measurements, which stands vertically from the ground.

2. Horizontal Plane :It is cut piece of cardboard made of certain measurements, which stands horizontally from the ground.

3. Front view : Imagine a 2D or 3D drawing, we should see the object from front side

4. Back view : Imagine a 2D or 3D drawing, we should see the object from back side.

5.Left view : Imagine a 2D or 3D drawing, we should see the object from left side.

6. Right view : Imagine a 2D or 3D drawing, we should see the object from right side.

7. Segment: It is a middle part made of cardboard piece at given measurements, used to divide 1 section into two sections.

8. Main Border: It is the main boundary of the cardboard complex, consists of Front, Right, Left, Back walls or panel.

9.Section: The instructable is divided into several sections like big rack sections, tablet section, cable section etc.

PLANNING AND DIVIDING SECTIONS

Screenshot_20220605_140523.jpg
Screenshot_20220605_134630.jpg

PLANNING : At first we have to plan what things needed like Total size of the whole box, size of the racks, number of racks etc. Upon this I designed the average measurements of main body and main borders, at specific size of racks.

This is 2D drawing on flat cardboard with their measurements pasted on top pictures. Total Length and Breadth of Flat cardboard is

Length = 28cm

Breadth = 30cm

These are main Borders of Cardboard box.

Note: Sometimes length looks smaller than breadth because its depends on the direction your watching the objects, it's not an issue, even we get the same object at correct measurements.

DIVIDING: After planning, we should divide the number of boxes needed inside the complex, at starting we raise many many questions like how many boxes we should use? which type like sliding racks etc, may be boxes movable or foldable or bendable etc, and for what purposes they should be used? I designed the boxes based on my need that I designed the complex with 2 Big Sliding racks, 2 Sliding Racks for Medicines & Syrups, 1 Sliding Rack for Data Cables, 1 Sliding Rack for Pen drives & sensitive cards, 1 Sliding Rack for Masks, 1 Bending Rack for pens, 1 Secretly Hidden box, 1 Coin Transporter & 1inch Tape holder, 1 Coin Storage box.

By diving the the boxes using 2D drawing shown on the flat cardboard in pictures, previously main borders drawn.

Here we can also divide the racks depend on floors like ground floor, first floor etc.

CUTTING BORDERS

Screenshot_20220605_135925.jpg

Let's start making the border walls (panels) first, cut the cardboard using sharp knife for good accuracy and smooth cutting results in good sharp edges.

  • Lets cut the Left Wall (Vertical plane)

Length = 30cm

Height = 20cm

  • Lets cut the Right Wall (Vertical plane)

Length = 27cm

Height = 20cm

  • Lets cut the Back Wall (Vertical plane)

Length = 29cm

Height = 19cm

  • FRONT WALL is not required

NOTE 1: Please don't attach the borders directly on the flat board, we should do it later.

IMG20220606215142.jpg

Now we should build some Racks and Rack borders. At first we should attach the borders situated inside and afterwards the racks.

BORDERS INSIDE:

RACK BORDER USE: They will help to slide the racks and dividing the racks from others sections

  • BIG RACK BORDERS

1. I used 2 Big racks consists of a common border representing as L1, L2, L3 (shown in picture)

Attach those L1, L2, L3 on the flat cardboard as shown in the picture.

  • L1 (Vertical plane)

Length = 20cm

height = 15cm

  • L2 (Vertical Plane)

Length = 20cm

Height = 15cm

  • L3 (Vertical Plane)

Length = 18cm

Height = 15cm

Afterwards the height of L1, L2, L3 are divided by 2

height =15cm/2 = 7.5cm (middle part of border)

2. Now cut a carboard sheet having measurements

Length = 17cm

Breadth = 20cm

Note: This is middle part of the rack border which divides two racks from top side is called as SEGMENT 2

Now this segment 2 to be attached between the L1, L2, L3 as shown in the picture.

MAKING RACKS:

  • BIG RACK 1

The total measurements of big rack 1 is,

Length = 17cm

Breadth = 20cm

Height = 7cm

The rack base is called as SEGMENT 1

  • BIG RACK 2

Length = 17cm

Breadth = 20cm

Height = 7cm

The rack base is called as SEGMENT 3

KEYWORDS: L1, L2, L3, Segment 1, Segment 2, Segment 3, Big Rack, Rack Border.

COIN TRANSPORTER:

Actually Coin Transporter is used to transport coins from front end to back end and drops the coins into Coin Storage Rack.

Means the Coin transporter consists of slant plate (slate) placed at certain angle, the coins smoothly slides in to the coin storage box from starting to destination.

And Coin Transporter still contains some free space inside, so I used those space as Paper tape Holder, in future I will improve it as a tape dispenser or Coin Sorter machine inside.

LETS START MAKING

  • RACK

It's all having measurements are shown in the picture.

Its sliding plate or slate placed at some angle for smoothly sliding.

COIN DROP RACK

  • RACK

Length = 9.5cm

Breadth = 9.5cm

Height = 14cm

It's consists of a small slot (hole) places on the coin drop box because, to receive the coins from coin transporter as shown in the picture.

In this we have already have the cut pieces of cardboards for main borders, now we have to recut them again based on the design we set.

  • MAIN RIGHT WALL
  1. It should be cut according to the measurements given in the picture above. And attach them to the Right side.
  2. The Tablet and medicine Racks are fully covered, the Pens rack, Cable and Pen drive racks are seen to be opened.
  • MAIN LEFT WALL
  1. The Left Wall (Panel) is fully flat, it do not needed any extra cuts as it covers the Coin Transporter and Coin drop box.
  • MAIN BACK WALL
  1. It should be cut according to the measurements given in the picture above. And attach the wall to the Back side.
  2. It covers the Cable racks, pen drive rack from beside and covers secret box and coin drop box as shows in the picture.
  • MAIN FRONT WALL

FRONT PANEL is not required, because the Front portion is all covered by Big racks, Tablet & Medicine racks and Coin Transporter.

COLOUR SELECTION: (Tip)

Colour selection is a big task for us, we break our mind and we raise many questions in our minds such as

  • which colour is the best fit?
  • Which colours are very attractive?
  • What is the matching colour of that particular colour?

By this questions we get a great headache and time taken process on decision making. so I found a great solution for this is Matching Colour Pallets are already available at Internet. You can watch some pallets pasted above.

By this Pallets you can choose your favourite colour matchings greatly, without any extra tensions on your brain.

COLOURING:

  • Now colour the cardboard complex using colour A4 sheets using white glue.
  • Or you can also use Poster colours or Oil pastes.

Here I used some colour such as

  1. Dark Red
  2. Sky Blue
  3. Black
  4. Yellow
  5. Neon Orange
  6. Green
  7. Pure White
