C8-L2 Communication Droid

C8-L2 is a communication droid designed during the High Republic by Industrial Automation. It fell out of use during the rise of the Galactic Empire. This would have been the end for C8 units but their telecommunication range and nearly unbreakable coded signal made them a perfect fit for the Rebels. 

 C8 units make great companions and are most popular among scouts and officers. With many ports and attachments, they are compatible with a wide array of other droids, especially R2 units. Loved for their upbeat sense of humor, and musical whistles and chirps, these communication droids make the darkest hour a little brighter.

Build Notes:

C8-L2 has been quite the learning experience for me in both Fusion 360 itself and the shape language of the Star Wars Universe. Star Wars has been an inspiration all through my life and designing a droid as a personal project has been on my list for a while. This opportunity gave me the motivation to get up and do it.  

I’ve been learning Fusion 360 for costumes and props for about two years now and every new project has unique discoveries that keep me returning to this program. I designed the C8-L2 to be printed with minimum supports and only 3 screws and had a great time doing it.
