What a find! C1-B0 (Cy and Bo) The duo-astromech droid.

After the clone wars, Industrial Automation was struggling to keep the C-series droid competitive with its predecessor R-series, and it seemed like the design would retire soon.

With the Galactic Civil war starting fires, there was one last attempt on the series line…

Another droid that had shown impressive growth was QT-9. A therapy droid with extreme mobility and a variety of tools. This droid rolled around on a ball and was compact compared to other droids on the market at the time.

Industrial Automation hoped to merge these design to give pilots, and the crew, two for the space of one. This hybrid design would provide independent mobility amongst the two, allowing them to split whenever the job called. Working under the same computer, these two could communicate simultaneously as they worked.

C1(Cy) Is equip with two arms that can utilize the tools on his body, like a welding torch. Or can utilize any of the attachments in B0’s (Bo’s) ball, when they are one unit, like a tool box.

Bo also serves as a personal/toy droid when not on astromech duties. He can hover in space much like L0-LA59. There's no need to worry about stolen information as Bo can transfer data out of Cy, then escape.

This duo was made for times of war, to improve astromech efficiency. Compact space, timely fixes, and great company. These droids were very personable much like the R2 units, and got along with one another as a unit. Although Cy is very sassy. Its just in his original programming, Bo understands. He's in his head.

A few hundred of these droids served in the Early years of the Galactic Civil War, and proved to show their worth out in battle, but became too costly. These droids only ran for a short production run before Industrial Automation decided to retire the C series completely. The BB series did take off after this design showed great potential for the ball shaped astromech droid. If you stumble upon one of these, consider yourself lucky. x2.
