This instruction is a suggestion on how to mount Ikea MITTLED with cabling solution for the table top lighting.
To hide all cables coppertape is used. This way there is no need to mill slots for the cable in the cover board and you don't need to buy the special cable (VĂ…GDAL) between the light strip and driver.

Supplies

MITTLED Lighting
IKEA Kitchen
Solder iron
Copper tape
Insulation tape
Piece of wire
Splice connector

Mount Cover Boards and Led Lighting

The cover board is cut in two pieces with the MITTLED lighting strip in the middle.

Cut End Piece and Add Insulation

Cut the end piece in half so that the pins are sticking out. Put insulation tape to cover the aluminium.

Cut two lengths of copper tape. Tape it to the pins and bend them away from each other.
Route the tape to the top of the cabinet.

Mount the Driver

Mount the driver. The attached connector was cut off and instead a cable was connected using a splice connector.
Brown is +24V
Blue is GND
Make sure to connect them the right way.

Remove the insulation on the cable and tape the ends. Add some kind of strain relief.

Solder the Tape Connections

The adhesive side of the tape is electrically insulating so to make the connection work this adhesive needs to be removed. The simplest way is to heat it using a solder iron. Heat the tape and add solder on the connection surface between wire (or pin) and tape.

Test and Enjoy

Test by plugging in the driver. If it doesn't work you can check each connection point between the tape and cable or tape and pins using a multimeter.

Last step is to finish it with the cover board. No visible cables and a clean look.
