Build a Laser Cut 3D Ironman Puzzle – Marvel Fan Craft With Colored Plywood From Creatorally

In this project, We recreated a mini 3D Ironman figure using 3mm Creatorally laser-cut colored plywood — a fun, vibrant puzzle that's perfect for desktop decor or Marvel fan displays. Whether you're into laser cutting or just looking to try a layered wood design, this one’s for you. 1. Diode, CO₂ , or fiber laser cutter
2. Colored plywood sheets (we used Creatorally plywood)
3. Ironman layered vector file (SVG or DXF)
4. Wood glue

Start with a layered Ironman cutting file — we’ve attached both DXF and SVG formats, with pre-separated color layers for easy use.

💡 Tip: Use 3mm colored plywood in red, yellow/gold, black, and white to match Ironman’s classic suit. Creatorally plywood is ideal for this type of layered laser work.

Import the provided SVG or DXF files into your preferred laser software (such as LightBurn, RDWorks, or the Glowforge App).

Adjust your laser settings based on your machine and material. In our assembly demo, we used a 55W CO₂ laser with the following settings:

Speed: 1100 mm/min, Power: 100% (for 3mm colored plywood).

You may need to adjust slightly depending on your own setup.

💡 Tip: Always run a small test cut to ensure clean edges and prevent overburning or undercutting.

For best results:

Use air assist (if available) to help reduce charring and improve cut quality

Apply masking tape (e.g. painter’s tape) to protect the surface from scorch marks

Alternatively, gently wipe the finished surface with a damp sponge after cutting to remove residue

Keep each cut layer organized by color and order to make assembly easier later

Once all the parts are cut, it’s time for the fun part — assembling your mini Ironman!

Follow the step-by-step assembly shown in our video. It may look like a lot of pieces at first, but don’t worry — the legs and feet are mirrored, so once you build one side, you’ve basically done half the work. 🙌

Take your time aligning each slot and tab. No glue is required unless you want to make it permanent.

💡 Tip: Keep similar parts grouped together before starting, and build from the bottom up (feet → torso → head).
