Build a Ladder Golf Game

IMG_1346 b.jpg

I made this game to play on the campsite with the family

Ladder Golf is played with 2 or more players or teams.

Each player has 3 golf ball bolas.

A bola is 2 golf balls attached by paracord.

The object of the game is to wrap your bolas around the steps of the ladder to score points.

The ladder consists of 3 steps, a top, middle and a bottom step.

The top step scores 3 points, middle 2 and bottom 1 point.

Players throw their Bolas until all 6 are thrown.

The winner is the first person to reach exactly 21 points.

Supplies

23' of PVC Pipe

6 x T Pieces

6 x 90 deg Angle Pieces

Coloured Tape

12 Golf Balls

Paracord

Step 1: Cut the Pipe and Join Together

The dimensions for the game are 24" wide and 13" between the ladder rungs.

I made the base 13" forward and 24" backwards.

Push the pieces into the joints to join, you can add adhesive if you wish, I didn't.

I break the game at the base for storage and transport

Add tape to the bars to denote their score.

Step 2: Make the Bolas

I got cheap golf balls from a golf shop. Secondhand or lake balls are cheapest.

Paint 6 of the balls a different colour if you did not buy two colours of ball

Drill them with a 1/4" hole, a vice is useful to hold them still

Thread the paracord through them and knot it.

The golf balls should be 13" apart.

Step 3: Play Ladder Golf

First a line must be set 5 paces from the ladder to throw from. I used a length of paracord and 2 pegs to mark this.

Ladder Golf is played in rounds, each round consists of all players tossing 3 bolas.

The first player must toss all 3 bolas before the next player is able to toss his or her bolas.

Bolas can be tossed in anyway the player chooses, as long as they are tossed individually.

Games are played to an exact point total of 21.

In order to win, a player must be the only one to score exactly 21 points at the end of the round.

If a player goes over the exact point total, their points for that round do not count.
