Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies
These brown butter chocolate chip cookies will be the most rich, decidant cookies you've ever tasted!
Supplies
To begin, you'll need to gather all your supplies. You will need:
- butter
- light brown sugar
- white sugar
- eggs
- vanilla extract
- all purpose flour
- baking soda
- salt
- semi-sweet chocolate chips
Brown Butter Time
For this step, you will get a small pot on low heat and cut one and a half sticks of butter into chunks to put into the pot. You can keep your eye on this pot until the butter is golden brown, roughly seven minutes on low heat.
Combine Sugar
After your butter is browned, allow it to cool for around five minutes then pour it into a large bowl. Add to your bowl:
- 1 cup of light brown sugar
- 1/4 white sugar
Mix this until just combined
Time to Get Eggy
Now you'll add in:
- 1 large egg
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
Mix this until just combined
Now for the Messy Part
In this step, you may find yourself making a bit of a mess, but that will enhance the flavor of the cookies, no doubt. Add into your bowl:
- 1 & 3/4 cup all purpose flour
- 3/4 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1 teaspoon of salt
Mix these until just combined
Snack Time
In this step, it is crucial to the outcome of your cookies to eat a few chocolate chips- or a handful. Add in two cups of chocolate chips (chocolate chunks work too) and mix until combined. You'll then scoop the dough into two ounce balls and place them on a parchment lined baking sheet.
Time to Chill
Now you've got to let these cookie dough balls chill in the refrigerator for at least thirty minutes.
Time to Bake
Finally, you'll bake these cookies in small-ish batches at 350 degrees for around 17 minutes.
Enjoy!
All that's left now is to enjoy the fruits of your labor! Indulge in these deliciously luscious and rich cookies until your teeth hurt from the sweetness.
