Hello everyone!
I had this desk lamp on my desk in the past days but while trying to adjust its height, I accidentally broke it. Maybe I'm too rough or it's too weak. Anyway, it was standing in my scraps and I decided to use it in someway.
I like reading books but I hate those book lamps that you put on your page. I thought that a lamp on my bed would be awesome to read books at night before I sleep. Actually I have been wanting a lamp like this for a long time and now I have it.
For this project you need:
- A broken lamp like mine
- A screwdriver
- Electric drill
- Two screw anchors
- Two screws to put in the screw anchors
- Electric terminal (you don't need this if your cable is not damaged)
- Electrical tape (you don't need this if your cable is not damaged)
- Wall hanger (I don't know the actual name. It's something to put the lamp on the wall.)
- Cable cutter (you don't need this if your cable is not damaged)
Let's start!
Disassembling the Unnecessary Pieces

I started disassembling the unnecessary pieces from the bottom. When I unscrewed the bottom screws, I saw a weight that is full of sand in it. It is to make the lamp stay on the ground. TRASH!
In the middle, I disassembled the screws to adjust the height. My lamp is broken because of those screws!!!
After that, I broke the cable ducts to free the cable. It was a little bit difficult but if you be tough, you can make it :)
Preparing the Cable

While trying to get the cable, I damaged it so I decided to cut it and repair it. If you got the cable without damage, you can skip this step.
So I cut the cable and I got two parts: Part with plug and the part that comes from the lamp.
I decided to repair it with electric terminals. So it is solderless and easy. As you see in the picture, I cut electric terminals. Then I cut the cable. I linked them. Be careful about linking them with the same colors. Try it out, if it's working, secure it.
I used electrical tape to secure the connection.
Mounting the Lamp to the Wall

We're so close to end.
I used the part 'wall hanger' as I mentioned in the beginning to put the lamp on the wall. First, I marked the holes that I'll drill.
I used electric drill to drill the wall. After drilling, I put the screw anchors. Then I screwed the wall hanger.
There's this part that I used to make the lamp stable. I didn't feel the need to put it in the material list. It's okay if you don't have it too.
Happy End!

I hid the cable at the back of my wardrobe.
It looks and works awesome! Thanks to my father for all his help :)
I hope it is helpful for you and I hope everyone understands that reading book makes people cultured.
