Putting It All Together

Because I make this salad for large gatherings and sometimes for just myself, I don't use a standard recipe. With a standard recipe, you would have to juggle the specified amounts to adjust to get nearly the number that you need to feed, and besides, if your home crew likes this salad as much as many do, you will want to keep the mixtures ready and at hand. I can make this every day and serve it with every type of meal.

For those of you who are of a math bent, the ratio is 1 part Honey, 2 parts Vinegar, to 4 parts salad dressing/yogurt mixture. Once you have made this salad you can change the sweet, sour blend to suit yourself and the salad dressing, yogurt mixture to your liking as well.

Make a mixture of Honey and Vinegar that is 1 part Honey and 2 parts Vinegar. It helps to mix these ingredients if the honey is warmed either in a pot of hot water or in the microwave. Do Not Overheat.

Make a second mixture of Salad Dressing and Yogurt. These two can be equal parts or more of one or the other depending on your taste. More Yogurt makes it tangier and more Salad Dressing makes it creamier.

In a plastic bag or a compact storage container as shown in Instructables of that name, place a mixture of Raisins and Cranberries in equal quantities.

When it comes time to make the salad put as much broccoli and coleslaw as needed for the amount of people that are being served in a suitably sized plastic bag.

In a bowl mix the honey/vinegar and the salad dressing/yogurt mixtures, adding a few ounces of the honey, vinegar mixture to taste. Add the raisin, cranberry mixture. I set out the sunflower seeds for people to add because some people apparently don't like them.

You can also set out a bowl of bacon bits as some people really like them in this salad but if they are offered separately, the salad is perfect for vegetarians. Your can try many things that you can add. Sometimes I throw in a bit of fresh pineapple or orange etc for variety.

Mix well and keep cool until serving.

Here it is in recipe form for those that like things set out that way.
