Bricolage Centerpiece
If you are looking for an original centerpiece that can be created with many different materials but that look great in the end, this idea is perfect for you.
The result is a funny combination of original cans with flower accents. The best part is that you will recycle cardboard cans as flower vases which is cheap and can be personalized in the color and texture that you like the most.
Create your favorite combination and enjoy!
Gather Your Materials
You need:
- 3 cardboard cans
- 3 laces
- 22 roses
- 1 floral foam block
- 2 pieces of celophane paper
- scissors
- flower food
- hot glue gun
- water
Cover Cans With Lace
Use a hot glue gun to keep together lace and cardboard can. Start by folding one side and adding hot glue. After that, wrap lace around can, cut lace +1cm and glue the end. Repeat this step as many times as needed to fully cover the can.
Cut and Hydrate Floral Foam
Cut floral foam block into three pieces. Hydrate in water (you just need to put them in the water and wait, do not push them into the water or you will create bubbles of air).
Add Hydrated Foam in Can
We will protect cardboard cans from water with cellophane paper. You can then add the hydrated foam. Cut the excess of cellophane.
Repeat
Repeat the cover can with lace - hydrate foam - add cellophane and foam into can process three times.
Cut Roses Stems at 45°
Cut roses stems at 45° to ensure they drink water and keep hydrated. This will also help to insert the flowers in the foam more easily
Place Flowers in Floral Foam
Place flowers in foam starting from the middle.Ensure they look symmetrical.
Use Petals to Decorate
Once you have 3 cans ready you need to take the remaining rose and take petals away. You can spread petals over table to decorate.
