Bow Out of Bamboo Sticks

bow1.jpg

When quarantine makes me bored - I try to make something, that distract boredom away from me. And one time I discovered idea that's really cool and don't require much time. You will see it right now:)

Supplies

  • Bamboo sticks (5)
  • Utility knife
  • Insulating tape
  • Thread

Cutting

First, we need to cut one bamboo stick into half. That's does not require much accuracy.

Construction

Now connect two sticks with tape like in the photo(as shown in photo number 2-3)

then connect two half size sticks to one of the sticks that we already made(as shown in photo number 4-5)

and finally connect both details that we made into one and wrap around with insulating tape(as shown in photo number 6-7).

In the end you need to make something similar to sixth photo.

Tension

We need to cut thread to piece that are approximately equal to bow length, that we made in another step.

tie knot in the end of thread. Then attach it in one side of bow(as shown in first and second photo).

Then pull wire and bend bow. Mark location where need to be another knot, then tie it and attach to another side of bow.

It's need to look similar to thing shown in third image.

Bow is done! Now you can make arrows!

Arrows

There are no rules in arrows making. You can make it as you like. I prefer bamboo sticks for arrow. I don't decorate arrows because it adds additional weight. Only one thing that I do to sticks - little grove in the side of arrow(as shown in photo), that's all !

Bow Is Finished - Test It !

Test, improve, have fun! Good luck for you :)
