Bouncy Froggy Chair

We designed a bouncy frog chair inspired by the adorable froggy chair from Animal Crossing. We thought of a way to put our own unique twist on it, and frogs like to jump, so why don't we make a bouncy frog chair? This invention is cute, fun, and will give people of all ages a great experience!
Supplies
Computer, Autodesk Inventor, Makerbot Replicator+, Compressible springs, PLA filament, Hot glue, paint
First Sketch

Open up Autodesk Inventor and start a 2D sketch. Ignore the stuff happening in the bottom of this picture for now. Use a combination of lines and arcs with a symmetry construction line along the middle. It mostly consists of lines connected by arcs, and the arcs at the top are the top of our frog's head. You may adjust the dimensions to the frog shape of your liking.
Extrusion 1

Extrude by your desired thickness amount. This is what we used.
Face

Start a new sketch for the face. We used circles and splines for the smiley facial features, but you may make any face you like. Be creative!
Face Indentation

Use the extrude feature to cut the face into the existing shape. We recommend cutting 1/5 the thickness of the frog head.
Fillet

Use the fillet tool to round the edges of our froggy. Experiment with different numbers to see which you like best. Our choice is shown above.
Seat

Create a new sketch on a perpendicular axis to the first sketch. This will be for the seat of our chair. Use lines and arcs to create a desired shape. Our dimensions are shown.
Seat Extrusion

Extrude the seat by an amount of choice, or what we used. After that, use the fillet tool again like you did for the back to round the edges.
Finished Model

You may add color to your model using the material and appearance panels, and this should be you final model! (the colors are optional)
Platform

Create a new file and create a platform, with a filleted rectangle sketch, extrusion, and more fillet!

Upload your files onto Makerbot Print, adjust the size to desired, and 3D print your pieces.
Glue With Springs

Get springs of your choice and hot glue it to the base platform. Then, get the seat, and glue that on top.
Paint (optional)

Paint in the facial features and seat if you want to go for the aesthetic! Now, your bouncy froggy chair is complete! Note that this is just a scale model, as a real chair would require much more and sturdier materials
