Bottomless Portafilter Conversion for Gaggia Classic
How to convert an old Gaggia Classic portafilter to a bottomless one.
Supplies
- 60 mm OD hole saw and suitable drill
- Piece of scrap wood
- Wood screws
Mount the portafilter on a piece of scrap wood, level it with a screw. Make sure it doesn't move, mounted as tight as possible.
Carefully drill out the bottom using the circular saw. Make sure the pilot drill hits exact center of the portafilter bottom. Apply finishing touches with a file.
