Bottle Cap Pins

Hey guys! I just joined this weekend and this is my very first Instructable! I came up with these funky pins a couple weekends ago. You don't have to limit yourself to sticking them on just purses and backpacks- you can pin them anywhere you like. And they make great gifts! :) Okay, let's get started. First, gather your materials.

You Need:
Bottle caps (ones from Snapple, beer, or bottled sodas work best, make sure they're clean)
Glue gun
Decorative paper of your choice
Scissors
Pin backs
Lighter cardboard
Corrugated cardboard
Packing Tape
Various colored pens, pencils, markers and crayons
Allegra bottle (If you use Snapple caps for this)
Black Pen

Step One

Grab the cap, quarter (Or allergy medicine bottle if you choose the bigger cap), pencil, paper, cardboard, and scissors. Trace around the quarter (or the bottle) and cut it out carefully. Repeat with light cardboard and corrugated. Write your message on the decorative paper circle. For this Instructable I chose 'Make art, not war", since it's going on a hippie bag. You can do any message you choose-just make sure it's short because you're working with very little space.

Step Two

This is what you should have so far.

Step Three

Sandwich the paper with the slogan on it in between two layers of packing tape, making sure to cut as closely around the circle as you can without breaking the tape's seal.

Step Four

Glue the circles in the cap in this order: Paperboard, corrugated cardboard, then circle with slogan. Flip it over and glue the pin back onto your cap.

Pin it to your bag and show it off! ^_^
