Bobblehead Jitter Zombie
Hi,
This instructable is a bit of an update on my previous instructable Jitter zombie but with this one we are going to take it a bit further and add a bobblehead element to it. Its quick and easy and as before uses a really simple bit of electrical wiring.
Lets get started.
What You'll Need
Tools
Scissors
a craft knife
Cutting mat
Rule
printer
Colouring pens and pencil
Materials
Card
glue dots
glue
tape (I'm using gaffa tape)
a small 3 volt vibration motor
a 3 volt battery
All the electrical products were sourced from www.reichelt.co.uk, an online retailer for industrial and consumer electronics – they offer a range of tools, components, tech accessories and more – save up to 20% on many products
Print It, Colour It, Cut It
Print out the template, I have done it that you can fit two on an A4 piece of card.
Draw out your zombie in pencil and colour it in. I did this before cutting it out as it makes it easier.
I have included some arms with hands but also some with blank spaces if you want to design your own hands for your zombie.
Cut it out remembering to cut around the ears with the craft knife (i cut out the whole thing with the craft knife but use whatever you feel most comfortable with)
Fold It, Wire It, Glue It
using your rule and craft knife lightly score along the dotted lines to give it a nice crisp fold
Fold and glue the head section together
As a optional thing you can (carefully) burn the plastic insulation off the vibration motors wires to increase the wire connectivity. just remember to do it away from anything flammable
On the body section place a glue dot near the bottom of the back of the front facing side.
Place one of the wires from the vibration motor on the glue dot and then place the batter on top of the wire/gluedot. on the opposite side place another glue dot and attach the vibration motor to that. careful not to get the spinny bit*stuck on the glue leaving the other vire loose.
Put some glue or glue dots on the tabs and assemble your zombie remebering to fold out the ears
Place a bit of tape on the loose wire and when you want your zombie to go attach the other wire to the side of the battery
*that is still totally a technical term
Rubberneckin'
or in this case spring neckin'
For this part we are going to hark back to my first ever instructable (how time flies)
Take the two long strips and place a glue dot at the end of one of them
Attach the two strips together at one end at a right angle
Fold the bottom-most strip over the top of the top strip and then continue to fold bottom strip over top strip until you get to the end of the paper
When you get to the end of your two strips attach them together with a glue dot
you can get different "bobbles" by adjusting the length/looseness of the spring
Attach your spring to the top of the body section and then inside the head section
Attach your arms and your done :)
Finished
And that's you!
You can decorate them up, add hair etc and experiment with where to put the motor to see how the jitter differently.
I hope you enjoyed this instructable and as always thoughts/comments/criticisms and even pictures of your own Bobblehead Jitter Zombies are welcome in the comments below :)
