Blu-Ray LASER Pointer for Less Than 15GBP Glow Crazy Game Mod
Buy a children's game called 'Glow Crazy' from Amazon or the like. There are other versions of this game but be aware some light pens are L.E.D and not a LASER.
Take the LASER Pen...
Remove the screws from the pen and prize open with a flat object.
Disassemble and De-solder
Break the pen down. Notice the pot adjuster is set to almost nothing? Don't crank it up yet and use it as the LASER module is mounted in plastic and has no heat-sink!
Remove Module From the Driver
You need something sharp to pick the plastic resin that secures the LASER module to the driver PCB, I used a pair of tweezers.
Once free quickly de-solder the module using a low wattage iron and solder mop.
!!!DO NOT OVERHEAT THE LASER!!!

Make the Pointer
There are many ways to mount this so I won't go into that.
I decided to keep the existing lens as it focuses nicely once removed from the casing.
I leveled off the plastic around the bottom of the laser module, applied some Arctic Silver thermal compound and attached it to a PC heat sink.
I used a 3.7volt 1800Ma cell from an old laptop battery to power the driver board that I reconnected to the LASER with wires.
Happy Modding!
