Bloody Knife Cake
Supplies:
- 1 box vanilla or white cake mix
- 1 can white frosting
- 2 8-inch round pans
- Red food coloring
- Plastic knife
- Zip-lock bag
Make the Cake
Follow the instructions on the cake mix box to make the batter. Pour the batter evenly into the two 8-inch round pans. Bake.
Frost the Cake
When the cakes have cooled, frost just the top of one cake with white frosting. Stack the second cake on top of the first. Then frost the sides of the cake. Gently frost the top of the cake, careful not to rip the delicate flaky layer. When the whole cake is frosted, stick the plastic knife into the top. I recommend not using a real knife because it will tip over and ruin the cake. With the remaining frosting, dye it a deep red with the food coloring. Then put the frosting in a zip lock bag. Cut off the very tip of one of the bottom corners and push the frosting to the corner. If you have a cake frosting tool, use that. Using the red frosting, make it look like blood dripping from the cut by the knife. Drip it down the side, from the cut, and make little drops. Then enjoy the cake at a party or just for a fun desert!
