Before getting starting you want to get your grill going and place your cast iron skillet on the fire so it gets nice and hot. While your skillet is heating up dice your onion and hollow out your roll but remember not to break through the crust.
Once your skillet is nice and hot add 1 tsp. bacon fat to your skillet and lightly sauté your chopped onion till ¾ clear in color then remove the onion from skillet leaving the bacon fat behind.
When the skillet comes back up to a nice hot temperature add your ground beef to the skillet and cook till ¾ done and then remove the cooked ground beef from the heat and drain the excess fat.
Wisk your egg, then add your bleu cheese dressing and whisk again adding salt/pepper to taste.
Place your hollowed bread bowl in the center of a piece of heavy duty foil and add half of your cooked chopped meat, then your sautéed onions, the rest of your ground beef and finish by pouring your bleu cheese egg mixture slowly over everything.
Place your Bleu Cheese Egg Boat on your grill indirectly over the heat and cook for 30 minutes then Enjoy! I am using one of three burners and the temperature is 325°.
{You will notice that in the first picture the bottom is a little on the dark side, this happened because I started the first 10 minutes directly over the heat}.
Warning: Any food coming out of the fire or off the grill will be hot. When you go to remove your food from the fire be sure to use something other than your bare hands to retrieve your meals like pot holders, a towel or tongs.
