Black Hole

I have made a model of a black hole. I decided to create this model because I am curious about things in space, and the physics that happen within the black hole is very mysterious. For example, did you know that the image of the accretion disk's backside is actually light that has been curved by the black hole's gravity?

Supplies

Get the tinkercad software. Start a new project to start making the black hole.

The Event Horizon

First of all, go to basic shapes and find this blue sphere. Change the color to black, and make all the dimensions of the sphere (width, length, and height) 76 millimeters.

The Photon Ring

Next, take this orange tube and change the color. Go to make a custom color, and make the RGB 255,75,0.

Modify the ring to look like this

  1. Radius - 9.5
  2. Wall Thickness - 12.3
  3. Sides - 128
  4. Bevel - 0
  5. Bevel Segments - 1

The hardest part is to make sure the ring comes out as a thin ring. Try inserting it at an angle, but you can also change the dimensions to fit the figure. Finally, duplicate the ring and repeat it on the other side of the figure. One thing that will be helpful for the last shape is to group (bundle) the photon rings with the event horizon.

The Accretion Disk

Take another sphere. Make the height/thickness of the disk 10. To make it the appropriate size, make the width 181 millimeters, and the length 100 millimeters. The RGB for the disk should be 236,36,0. Finally, use your estimations to make sure the disk is in the center of the event horizon. Then, make the disk (76/2) →38 millimeters off the ground. We will get back to centering it once the whole black hole has been completed

For this step, this will just be a template for the next step. First of all, duplicate the accretion disk, and then align it back with the original disk, so it just looks like there is one disk. Then, rotate the disk, 90 degrees.

Next take this sketch shape, and place it on the newly added disk. It will then take you to a different page that you can draw on. Then, used the curved lines, and make it look like the shape in the third picture. For the end, just delete the template we made on the previous shape. You may have to rotate it, and increase the thickness, according to what would look good. Finally, change the color of the sketch to the preset red.

Aligning Everything

First of all, you should group everything. Then, press the rightmost button on the first picture. Then, finally, press the align button(the middle button on the first picture) and press all the middle dots, as shown on the second picture.
