Black Bean Hawaiian Fiesta Burgers (15 Minutes)
A rush of flavors converge in your mouth, from pineapple to salsa to French fried onions, all atop a tasty black bean burger. This is a satisfying main course that sticks to your ribs. All in just 15 minutes.
Ingredients
Ingredients:
1 Can of Black Beans (drain off juice)
1 Egg
1/2 Cup Panko Bread Crumbs
1 Tsp Montreal Steak Seasoning
1 Tsp Cooking Oil (Olive, Grape Seed, or Vegetable Oil)
Salsa
1 Can Sliced Pineapple
French Fried Onions
Lettuce/Spinach (Optional)
Buns (Optional)
Black Beans
Drain Black Beans from can. Discard drained liquid.
Mash black beans. A fork makes a fine mashing tool.
Add Egg, Bread Crumbs, and Montreal Steak Seasoning
Add 1 Egg, 1/2 Cup Bread Crumbs, and 1 Tsp Montreal Steak Seasoning to mashed black beans.
Form and Fry Black Bean Burger Patties
Combine and Form into Burger Patties.
Use 1 Tsp Cooking Oil (Olive, Grape Seed, or Vegetable Oil) or enough to keep patties from sticking to surface.
Fry at a medium heat for a few minutes on each side until excess moisture is gone from each side and the patties have a solid shape that holds. Do not use water to keep patties from sticking, because the patties will get mushy and fall apart.
Top Your Burger(s)
Add Salsa, Pineapple, and French Fried Onions.
Spoon salsa on top of your black bean burger to your liking (1/4 to 1/2 cup of salsa).
Place a slice of pineapple on top of the salsa.
Garnish with French Fried Onions.
Build your burger atop a bun, on a bed of lettuce/spinach if you wish. Enjoy!
