Bird House

I made a birdhouse out of cedar wood. I made the birdhouse because I thought that it would be a fun and easy project for anyone to enjoy building.

For the tools you will need a drill, A measuring tape, A mitre saw, A sander, A table saw, A pencil, And about twenty 1 inch deck screws( or nails if you prefer) ,A 3/4 inch drill bit for the holes, Cedar wood, Wood glue.

For step one you need to measure all of the wood and then proceed to cut it afterwards. For the measurements it doesn't matter what you chose to do. For me I decided to make my sides 11 1/2 inches long by 5 1/2 inches wide, For the top of the birdhouse I chose to make them 9 1/2 inches long and 5 1/2 inches wide, My bottom piece was cut to 7 1/2 long and 5 1/2 wide.

For the second step you are going to want to cut the side pieces so that they have a 45 degree angle at the top of them so that the roof can go on the top on an angle.

For the third step you have to cut the sides( or front and back little pieces) so that you can actually put bird feed into so that it doesn't fall out.

For the forth step of this project you are gonna have to sand all of the wood so that it is nice and smooth and the pieces go together nicely.

For this step you are gonna glue all of the wood as well as screw all of the pieces together. For gluing the wood I put the glue on edges where the wood would be touching other pieces of wood so that when they go together they will be glued as well as screwed. After I glued all of the pieces I made sure they where lined up and I used the a clamp to hold them together. After I waited a while for the glue to dry I needed to put the screws in, but before I started to drill the screws in I had to drill little holes where I was gonna put the screws so that the wood wouldn't spilt this is very helpful and it makes it easier to drill the screws into the wood.

The end result should look close to this one depending on what wood you chose to use as well as what size you decided to go with.
