Biko is best solution to take care of your loved ones.

Biko represent the new generation of wearable which monitors the health of your loved ones and that automatically notifies you in case of emergency.

It has two incredible functionalities:

- FALL DETECTION SYSTEM: receive an automatic emergency SMS if your dear accidentally falls.

- LIFESAVING BUTTON: receive an automatic emergency SMS and a smartphone notification if your dear feel insecure.

But, we are already looking to other important updates.

Step 1: Develop Firmware

Biko is developed by Intel Edison Board and use different sensors: accelerometer, button and display.

To develop Biko Firmware we use Eclipse IDE and C++ language.

When Biko starts, it calibrates accelerometer and if it detect an anomaly it show an alarm on display, send an sms through Twilio and save the alarm on Firebase.

If you press the Biko button it send an sms alarm and save the alarm on Firebase.

Step 2: Configure Twillio

We configured Twillio on Intel Edison Board through curl and we configured REST call to allow Biko to send SMS. The SMS in this moment is sent to a configured number.

Step 3: Configure Firebase and Android App

We created a Firebase project and we configured the url in the Biko firmware. Biko sends information on Firebase every time that it is generated an alarm.

The Android app is always in listening on Firebase changing and if it detects changes shows the new data on smartphone display and sends a notification to alert the user.

Step 4: This Is the Result
