Bike Modde's Honey BBQ Sauce

Here is a good receipt for a good tangy honey BBQ sauce that is 100% homemade.

Tomato Paste Base

Start this receipt with 6 cups tomato paste. Measure it out into a 10 quart sauce pan.

If you have a lot of tomatoes from the garden check out my other inscrutable of how to make homemade tomato paste that you can use in this receipt.

Molasses and Vinegar

Add 1 1/2 cups of molasses to the sauce pan.

Also Add 3 cups of apple cider vinegar.

Bring all of this mixture to a simmer and continue to mix.

Spice It Up

Add 2 cups of clover honey

5 table spoons of onion powder

4 table spoons of garlic powder

3 table spoons of ground mustard

2 tea spoons of ground cloves

3 tea spoons of black pepper

3 tea spoons of salt

1 cup of brown sugar

mix all of these ingredients for 20 minutes and then prepare to can.

Prepare jars and add 1/2 teaspoon of citric acid to each jar.

Fill jars up to 3/4 inch head space and add lids and bands.

Boil in a water bath for the proper time for your area.

In Ohio it is 20 minutes.
