Turn your old tools into art.

Supplies

Old tools. Sand paper. Some screws Chocolate, preferably the 75% coco butter stuff. Paint. A bit of wood. Oil for that wood.

Umm. I Missed This Step and I Don't Know How to Remove It

Get Your Piece of Wood and Sand It

This is rimu. A native New Zealand wood. I found this in a skip. An old weather board. It was crazy. This stuff is impossible to find new. There's like problems felling and milling native wood in New Zealand and these guys decide that it's OK to pull down a 100 year old house and put it in a bin and not give any thought the wood can be recycled

Oil.

Looking nice. I used this oil and gave it 5 coats. Applied with a lint free cloth that was previously a t-shirt

Arrange the Tools So They Look Good

Looking balanced. Looking like some care and attention went into placement.

Paint the Tools

Clean the oil off the old tools. Use soapy water. Some methylated spirits. I sprayed them with black paint from a rattle can

Screw Things Down

Brass screws. I ate the chocolate during this step. Added a bit of wire to hang it. There we go. Art for your garage made from old bike tools.
