PROBLEM
You stop and you support the bicycle against a wall, open the rack bags and the bike start to slip away...
I bet everyday bicycle users have encountered this situation... and for me is really annoying!
So here it is a hint - more than a real project - to avoid that!
You just need to put a rubber band around the handles and use it in case you need to keep the brake levers pressed!
RUBBER BANDS are:
+ CHEAP
+ COMMON
+ SOFT - wrapped to the handle when not used -
+ MULTIPURPOSE - i.e. ready for fix plastic bags around your ankles in case of rain! -
Of course instead of rubber bands you could use ALTERNATIVES such as:
+ INNER TUBE RINGS - environmental friendly and coherent -
+ REUSABLE ZIP TIES
This rubberband handbrake system is IDEAL:
+ with HEAVY LUGGAGE
+ to let the bike stay on SLOPES
+ to let the bike stay blocked ON TRAINS
But - with its limitations - also WORKS AS:
+ THIEF RETARDANT - i.e. while buying bread -
+ IMMOBILIZER
+ FAST STOP HANDBRAKE
Hope you enjoy this or even improve it!
Thanks for watching!
Cheers from Italy!
