Bibble From Barbie Stuffed Toy
When taking a look at what the Fandom contest was about, something immediately came to my mind. It is this fictional character named "Bibble" from some of the Barbie movies that makes me so nostalgic about my childhood. It's small, adorable and fun. When I was younger I used to be obsessed with these movies and specifically this character in them. I knew I wanted to recreate "Bibble" and thought that a stuffed toy would be the best way to represent it. I hope that for other people who know these movies, this "Bibble" stuffed toy will cause the same nostalgic feeling that it did for me and take people back to their childhood.
Supplies
- mint colored fabric
- purple fabric
- plush stuffing
- pink fuzzy fabric
- light blue and dark blue foamy paper
- white pompon
- thread
- needle
- scissors
- glue stick
Making the Head
First, cut the fabric using the scissors into two pieces like the shapes shown above. For each of the shapes there must be one identically symmetrical to each. Begin with the smaller one for the head. Start sowing the two symmetrical pieces of fabric together from the inside. Remember to leave one side open to turn it inside out and fill it in with the plush stuffing. Once filled in, close it up sowing the last part left.
Adding the Hair
Next, grab the pink furry fabric and sow it at the top of the head from side to side until the part of the head that should have hair is filled like in the picture above.
The Body
Grab the fabric that was not used yet for the body. Begin the sowing process again from the inside only from one side. When getting to the next side turn it inside out and sow the next part together with the head as well. Next, before putting the plush stuffing in, cut out some round pieces from the pink furry fabric and sow them to the body. Now put the stuffing in and close the final side.
Features
Finally, for the features start with the ears. Grab the purple fabric and cut out some little ear shaped pieces like the ones in the picture. Sow each of them to each side of the head below the hair. For the arms do the same bit with the same mint fabric used for the body and sow them to the sides of the body below the face. For the eyes cut out two "D" shapes of the baby blue foam paper and sow the to the face. Cut out two circles from the dark blue foam paper, draw a circle with a sharpie as the pupil and paste both circles to the "D's" with glue. For the nose, grab the small white pompon and sow it in the middle of both eyes and below.
