Bi-Generator Vertical Wind Turbine Device

And regarding this post we are presenting a new wind turbine device, that it is 3d printed by nearly any machine in the market and it is even more easy to assemble in an intuitive manner as it have few parts and it is visually explained.
It can be viewed the high rpm that the device is able to produce thanks to the design of the turbines as well as how simple it is.
This device is also supported by an original turbine blade design that gives more torque & RPM to the VAWT and in one step below it will be showed the comparison tests of a normal flat turbine vs this one or you will prove it yourself if you 3d print the stl files and assemble the VAWT parts, which is fast and simple.
You can obtain this vertical multi-generator wind turbine as a physical reward in case you are not for 3d printing it at our crowdfunding campaign as well as other rewards related to innovative wind turbine new concepts & designs that are commented more in detail in the last step of this project description down below.
It can be build at a much lower cost an array of this vertical wind turbines that are able to delivered from 20 watts to a maximum as 100 watts each VAWT depending of the amount of DC motors-generators & turbine blades type used (2 motors per VAWT for maximum wattage is required). If there is not much wind, the number of generators per unite can be reduced to one. In the next steps it will be described in detail all what you need to know for building one or more devices to generate more electricity for personal use. It is important to say, that this apparatus with all the conflict of Ukraine touching Europe and the price rise of the energy at this moment makes this wind turbine to arrive in the right time to save electricity costs and if you have a lot of wind available in your area then an array can be really efficient. The main advantages are the turbine design, the simplicity of the device assembly, the multi-generator and the price of production, that is really low. It is just required to have a 3d printer or a minimum knowledge's in the now-how DIY for this building green energy generator apparatus project. It is composed by very few parts and it is very simple to fit and assemble it as well as it can be disassembled and packed together to occupy less space and with its light weight it can be transported with more units for any outdoors activity as camping, sail etc... as well as it could be placed in the top of a house, building or terrace or making an array to cover all your energy domestic needs placing an amount of units to work together as a grid. The options are endless and with how energy specially electricity is mounting up due to the Ukraine conflict, this sort of devices are now a priority.
Supplies
We will begin by placing all the elements required for building this wind turbine including links for where to buy at very competitive price the DC motors that will work as generators and bearings.
- The DC motor used is a Hilitand 31ZY 24V/3.500RPM permanent magnet and there are 2 links where it can be found. Please have in consideration that the total cost is reduced if you get several units instead of one at AliExpress but it is also available at higher rate at Amazon. There are different types of Hilitand motors and therefore some of them have more torque other less torque, we have used the 31ZY 24V/3.500RPM but as said before you can use for example a 24 volts with rated speed of 6.500 rpm that spins more easy with lower wind speeds if you live in a region with less wind available. In any case the next days we are going to place new stl files that relates to different motors diameters and types, so the user can play with different options & configurations. DCMOTORS
- UPDATE Another smaller DC motor is available adding a new stl file shaft to connect it to the dc motor, so in case the wind is very low it will allow the turbines to achieve a higher RPM (Can fit maximum 2 dc motors in the device). It is an Uxcell RF-500TB-12560 DC5V-12V 2300RPM-5600RPM and could be found in Amazon. It has been already used this dc motor in an horizontal wind turbine prototype using 6 led lights of 3watts each, achieving in the test 18watts of light. Here is the link.
- The number of bearings that are needed for the device are 13 units (8x22x7) and can be found at very affordable prices at AliExpress or at Amazon for a much higher cost.
VERY IMPORTANT UPDATES
It is important to mention that the type of filaments that must be used are different for each item of the device. For the none moving parts a PLA filament would do right and for the moving elements like gears or turbine blades the ideal filament goes from ABS, Nylon to poly-carbonate due to friction, wind etc.
- A new stl files has been updated with the name of ExtendExtensor.stl that consist of a turbine extension unit that can be linked with other extension units, so the turbine diameter can be extended more in case there is few wind available and you are using the 2 generators in the device.
- Another important update has been done. There is a new stl file that is a shaft linker between the small gear and another smaller dc motor (uxcell RF-500TB-12560 DC5V-12V 2300RPM-5600RPM) to be used in case there is not a lot of wind available therefor allowing the turbines to spin much more easily. The stl files have the name,

NEW GEARS RANGE 3x1
If there is few wind as might be in cities etc, it has been developed a gear system 3x1 so the rpm of the motors shaft will be lower therefore taking less load. This is ideal for regions where the wind do not blow strong.This gear range system is applied to both dc motor Uxcell RF-500TB-12560 DC5V-12V 2300RPM-5600RPM & Hilitand 31ZY

Base of the Vertical Wind Turbine
This is the base of this device where all the items that compose it will be attached and build over it. It will have also as it can be viewed 4 supporters that will be attached to the cylindrical base. The base have 3 holes to fit the bearings.
Please have in consideration that the base in the 3d picture and the real picture, there is a little difference between them.
Small Gears/big Gear With Shafts Assembly
In this step it is showed how shafts and gears would be fit all together in the base and adding over it the base bearing structure as images show. The last picture it is added also the 4 bottom columns that will be fit with the top support column to hold the shafts in the middle that are linking the hub and the main gear.
The gears ratio are 10x1, so for each turbine blade rotation the generator shaft will turn 10 rotations.
The Generator Holder
The holder of the generators is viewed in the first pic and in the second pic it is viewed the small gear(without stopper) with its shaft placed in the generator shaft.
In the third picture which is a 3d view, it is showed the generator holder fit in the base bearing structure.
Top Shaft That Links the Hub and the Supporting Top Column
In this step it is added the top shaft hub support that will be connected to the 4 columns below and it will be added the middle top shaft that will link with the hub.
Type of Blades Used in the Device
It can be used 4 types of blades as the images show with different sizes and different designs. The blades with the dimples shapes are pending patents.
Turbine Blade Assembly With Hub and Stoppers
The assembly is very easy to do and very intuitive as it can be viewed. In the two last 3d images, it can be viewed in the first one how the stopper, hub and turbine blade are ready to get assembled and in the second image it is viewed all the elements fit and already assembled.
Turbine Blade Extensors
When using 2 generators the load is the double and if there is not much wind it is better to extend the turbine arms length in order to obtain more easy spin, it can also use bigger blades and this will increase the force of rotation. In any case it is an advantage to extend or cut the length of the turbine blade arms at will as circumstances are required.

In this step it is showed visually how to assemble all the items picture by picture and step by step after having 3d printed all the elements.
There are 2 different gearbox systems of range 10x1 & 3x1,
- The gearbox system 10 x 1 showed in the in the pictures would require MainGear.stl that can be combined with SmallGearWithBearingStopper.stl or SmallGearBearingStopper.stl.
- The gearbox system 3 x 1 that would require the MainGearRange3-1.stl combined with the SmallGearRange3-1.stl
And depending of the dc motor used in the device there will be 2 shaft stl files for each one,

Presentation From a Group of Students at the Munich University of Applied Sciences for Their Construction Class Project of Our Multi-stage & Multi-generator Vertical Wind Turbine System
The multi-generator device has called the attention of a group of students from the Munich University of Applied Sciences for their project of construction class. In this link you can view the pdf (German).
This first project is a part of a further open turbo-machine system based in a pending patent that contains not only open turbo-machines but also close turbo-machines ( jet engines, gas turbine etc etc) and as the picture show, we have developed a 2 stage VAWT where the top stage spins over an already rotating bottom stage making the top stage to rotate by itself and adding the bottom stage rotation. We are now developing a third stage, but in any case we are making a crowdfunding to obtain funds to continue with this and other innovative (In our humble opinion) wind turbine devices.
The video show how we use a leaf blower but focusing in one stage at a time as it is commented. And each multi-meter is connected to a single stage. It can be observed from second 13 that the leaf blower is pointed at the last stage and how it drags with it the inferior stage by the amps in the screen and after it is pointed to the inferior stage and it is viewed that the amps of the top stage goes down to 0.
Update Device Configuration for Places With a Lack of Wind
It has been updated stl files for a gear system of range 3x1, so it is more easy to spin and there is also an stl files updates of a motor holder and a shaft linker for a small dc motor like the Uxcell RF-500TB-12560 DC5V-12V 2300RPM-5600RPM.It should work very good another version of the Hilitand 31ZY, instead of the type 24V/3.500RPM it can be bought one with more rpm, that means more easy to spin as for example 24v/8.000RPM.It can be found all the types here https://www.amazon.ca/-/fr/Moteur-permanent-vitess...
And it can be used of course just one motor and the stl files for extensions, that it can even make the turbine arms longer, attaching extension with extension for example and use the big version of the turbine blades (bigger area) that are available in the stl files included the pending patent one with holes. And of course it can be printed several devices making an array that can each one feed the other when the turbine blades push the air in between them and that array plurality can give much watts together despite the lack of wind (each device will give a certain amount of watts that will multiply the total power of the array).
