Bhakhri Pizza

Hey guys,

I think the word Bhakhri will be unknown to you. It is one Indian bread and it is made of coarse wheat flour . Normally, pizza base is made of refined wheat flour, which is not considered to be good for the health. So, replacing it with this Indian bread called Bhakhri is a great hack, isn't it? Bhakhri is healthy too!

Supplies

For Bhakhri (Pizza base) :

Coarse wheat flour -250 gram
Salt
Oil - 4 tbsp
Water

For Pizza sauce :

Tomato puree - 1 and half cup
(*take 5 tomatoes and make 3 - 4 cuts on their surfaces and boil them for 5 minutes. After that peel the skin of tomatoes and make the puree)
Chopped Onions - 4 tbsp
Chopped tomato - 4 tbsp
Chopped garlic - 1 tbsp
Oil - 2 tbsp
Red chilli powder - 2 tsp
Tomato ketchup - 2 tbsp
Sugar - 2 tbsp
Oregano - 1 tsp
Salt

For Toppings and garnishing :

Chopped Capsicum -1(small sized)
Chopped Onions - 1 (small sized)
Mozeralla cheese
Oregano
Chilli flakes

(*The measurements are for making 3 pizza)

Making of Dough for Bhakhri (Indian Bread)

Take coarse wheat flour in a bowl.
Then add salt.
Add 4 tbsp oil to it and also add water for binding.
Bind hard dough.
Give the dough a rest for about 20 minutes.

Preparation of Pizza Sauce

Put a pan on a gas stove with medium flame.
Add 2 tbsp oil into it and chopped garlic to it.
Also add chopped onion and sauté garlic and onion for a while.
When colour of onions change a bit into light brown, add chopped tomatoes in it.
Now, cook it on high flame for 2 minutes.
Then, add tomato puree into it and again cook it for about 3-4 minutes.
Add sugar, salt, red chilli powder and tomato ketchup to the mixture and again cook it for few minutes.
At last, add oregano.
(*You can also add hot sauce. )

Kneed the dough for about 2-3 minutes.
Partition the dough into 3 equal ball sized doughs.
Take one ball sized dough on a board and roll it to make a round shaped Bhakhri (pizza base).
Now preheat a Tawa (pan) on gas stove with high flame for about 2-3 minutes.
Put the bread on the Tawa and cook it on both the sides properly with medium flame.
Do the same with the rest of the two doughs.
Now our healthy pizza base is ready.

Assembling of Bhakhri Pizza

Transfer the Bhakhri to the pan in which you want to cook the pizza.
Apply the pizza sauce on top of it.
Add mozeralla cheese on top of it.
Then add toppings like Capsicum and onion slices.
(*You can add other toppings as per you liking.)
Cook it in the pan for 3-4 minutes on a low flame with the lead covered on pan.
The Bhakhri pizza is ready...!

Now, sprinkle oregano and chilli flakes on the top of the pizza.
