Beginner's Guide to Crochet

to correctly hold the yarn you must hang it over your index finger then lead the tail end behind your hand and between your ring finger and pinky finger. to properly hold the hook hold the main part of the hook between your thumb and index finger (use the pictures for reference).

start with a chain of 13 stitches insert the hook through the second chain from hook, yarn over hook and pull through, yarn over hook one more time and pull through, repeat 11 more times.

start with a chain of 13 stitches, yarn over hook insert in the third chain from hook, yarn over hook and pull through, you should have 3 loops on your hook yarn over hook and pull through all 3 loops, repeat until you reach the end.

start with a chain of 13 stitches, yarn over hook and insert though the third chain from hook yarn over hook and pull through you should have three loops on your hook only pull through the first 2 loops, yarn over hook one more time and pull through, repeat till you reach the end.

chain 2, in the second chain from hook single crochet 6 pull the tail end until the hole in the center closes.
