I made beautiful, colourful and themed easter eggs because Easter is coming and I found it an brilliant idea to use my old napkins to make my own DIY-easter-eggs. I hope that by using this older, but usable technique called napkin-decoupage you will enjoy the process and result like I did. :-)

Supplies

  1. Eggs
  2. Sissors
  3. A sharp object like a thick needle
  4. Napkins in different colours and themes
  5. Fabric tape in a preferred colour
  6. Craft clue
  7. Possibly hot glue

Piercing the Hole

First, you have to make a hole in the egg shell at both bottoms of the egg with a sharp object. This is best done with a very thick needle or a thin screwdriver. Be careful not to break the eggshell when piercing the hole. The hole can be about 2mm large. Now you can blow out the content of the egg. :-)

Then take the fabric ribbon and tie it into a bow. This will then serve as a hanging element for the Easter egg. Try to make the knot of the loop disappear into the hole of the egg so that we can get the holder to work.

Decoration

Choose the design you want to use that you cut out of the napkin. Take between 10 and 15 individual pieces or less depending on the size. Then, take your egg. Eventually use a brush to paint on the glue and then stick on your napkin pieces. Then place the cut out napkin paper pieces on the egg and allow the glue to dry.

Showdown

You can have fun choosing the shape, colours and patterns of the napkin technique and create as many colorful Easter-eggs as possible. =-)

Finish

Place the decorated eggs back in the box to protect them from breaking while being transported.

This DIY-project is now finished. I wish you all happy Easter! :-)
