Why make your own poster or learn how to use InDesign?

Well.. At this day in age, it is very important to have the ability to construct your own media in order to aid in personal or public promotion. Many work environments value graphics-skills, plus programs like InDesign give you the freedom to design almost anything you want!

Adobe Products are the industry standard for Design and Graphics today and by learning them, you can better your overall effectiveness in producing polished Graphics and Media!

Learning the Basics

In order to construct a basic poster, it is vital to understand some of the basic InDesign tools.

In this instructable, I will cover any tools I used to create my "For Sale" poster.

Selection Tool

This tool is used to select dimensions and objects within you workspace. You can also move objects with this.

Type Tool

This tool is used to edit or create text

Line Tool

This tool is used to create lines of various shapes and sizes.

Rectangle Tool

This tool is used to create rectangles of various shapes and sizes.

Design Components

Now to list how I used my design tools!

The design construction is as follows:

Background: White

Yellow Blocks: Rectangle Tool & Selection Tool

Text/ Headers: Type Tool

Car Graphic: Imported Photo ("File", "Place", *Choose image, *Click workspace)

Image Line Borders: Line Tool
