Battery Powered Bluetooth Speaker

In this Instructable I show you how I made a compact bluetooth speaker.

It is made from ready-made components, so no programming is required

Supplies

The parts required:

  • LiPo battery (I used a flat battery of 1000 mAh
  • TP4056 charger IC (or complete TP4056 module)
  • Bluetooth receiver and amplifier board (Aliexpress)
  • Speakers(Aliexpress)
  • Step up boost converter to increase the battery voltage to 5V
  • Leds, wires

Tools required

  • 3D printer for the case
  • Soldering tools
  • Hot glue gun

Create the Power Part

The power part is quite simple. The LiPo battery is charged via a TP4056 IC. There are ready made TP4056 modules available for little money, but I wanted to build my own circuit based on the circuit from the datasheet. The blue and red leds are connected to the charge and standby pins of the TP4056.

The Battery is connected via a switch to a step up boost converter which outputs 5V. The 5V is output is connected to the power input of the bluetooth receiver. The green led is a power on indicator connected to the 5V.

Connect the Bluetooth Receiver and Speakers

The bluetooth receiver is a complete module and has output connectors for the speakers. I connected some tactile buttons in parallel to the buttons on the receiver module so I could use the switches in a case.

3D Print and Assemble

I designed a case with a bottom and a lid in Fusion360 and 3D printed it in grey PLA.

The power board is glued to the bottom and the speakers and buttons are glued to the lid. The battery and receiver board fit in between.

The case fits together without glue, however you can always glue the parts together.
