Batman Latex Mask
Ever in your life, have you ever wanted to create superhero suits, just like in the movies... ever wanted to look as cool as Batman in one way or another... well look no further... here's my instructions to creating your home made Latex rubber Batman mask.
SUPPLIES:
First, lets start with things you'll need like...
Polystering head
12.5kg of air drying clay
1 litre of liquid latex
57g fimo clay
hot glue gunn
a recycled used bucket container
Any wooden platform or cardboard to place your model head.
Best thing to do get many PHOTO reference of you particular mask, whether it's a particular superhero or hero with a signature mask, but in this case BATMAN ... so start of bu using your air drying clay (you can use bare hands when making or rubber disposable gloves) ... have a small bowl of water ... this to keep the clay moisted whenever you need to recreate or re sculpt the particular shape of the mask of your choice... weight for the clay mask to be dry overnight or if not officially done ... cover is with cling film so you can re sculpt or shape it to your choice.
As for the ear part of the mask, use 57g of Fimo clay ...shape the clay to as near as the bat you can imagine or reference to... put the clay ears in an oven... for at least 10-15 minutes,on a lower gas mark (make sure they are place of a baking fowl for them to rest on)... one the ears are rock hard, time to place them on you clay mask head with a glue gun.
When your clay mask is ready, paint the clay mask with the first layers of liquid latex 3-4 times...it will look transparent ... then afterwards, pure a. little amount of liquid latex mixed with black acrylic paint, then paint the clay mask again 4 - 5 times, so then you have 10 layers of liquid latex applied to the head mold, leave it for afew minutes or 24 hours
- (make sure your surroundings are well covered with newspapers, cardboard or old towels, so service are not destroyed or ruined)
- Windows must be opened when applying latex liquid, as it really smells odd.
Once the clay mask mold, is dried after ten layers of liquid latex... pull the latex mask from the clay mask mold carefully and slowly ... onces its all pulled off cut out eye holes and mouth holes, and little nostrils holes for nose ventilation ... besure to know it fits on you and HOLY COMPLETE BATMAN ... you've made your Mask !!!!
PLEASE DO GIVE IT A TRY AND LEAVE COMMENTS IF IT WORKS !!!
