The Basics

Start By dragging A simple square, then resize to make it a little bigger.
Starting to Bring Things Together

Get a striped Cylinder. then resize it to make it just smaller than the square.
Creating the Hole Part.1

Place the Cylinder in the middle of the square. You may have to make the Cylinder a little taller.

Select both items, using (Ctrl-A) Then in the upper-right-hand corner, click the button named Group, which will then create the Hole.
