Basic Spotted Cup With Fusion 360

A basic spotted mug made from fusion 360.

Creating a Sketch

Click on the “sketch” option the left hand corner, and create a sketch of a circle of about 70mm.

Then, click finish step

Extruding the Base

After you are done with the sketch, press the “extrude” button from the toolbar and extrude to 5 mm

Sketch Another Circle

Using the sketch tool, create another circle in the center, on top of the base. Keep the size to about 65 mm

Extrude the Sides

Now, you have a base and a sketch of a circle within it. In between the two, click what is to become the walls of your mug, and use the extrude tool to extrude to 80 mm.

FIllet

Mugs usually have rounded edges, so click on the outer edge of the mug, and click “fillet”. Set the measurement to around 2-3 mm

Colour

Select your mug, and click “a”. A colour menu should appear. Scroll down and click on the green option in the plastics menu, and drag it on your mug. Also, colour the fillets green and the insides white.

Holes

Select where you want to make the holes of the mug, and under create, click the “hole” option.


The settings should be changed to create a simple hole, with a simple hole tap type and a flat drill type. Make it 1mm deep and 2.40mm wide.


Start by clicking wherever you want to make the hole, changing the location (by the blue and white bars if you are moving it up and down, and on the grey circular handle to move it left/right). Then, click “OK”
