Balancing Game!

IMG_7678.jpeg

The game I made is a BALANCE GAME which was inspired by the game called “Bamboleo”. The rule is similar to Janga, the player takes one object from the base, and if one person loses balance that person will lose, and others can be won, or continue the game by setting up the base again.

Materials:

  • cardboard (preferably three 40 cm × 40 cm boards: involve on the size of base)
  • color papers (preferably two sets of three different colors: involve on level of difficulty on the game)
  • objects for some weight (preferably three different weights: involve on level of difficulty on the game)

Tools:

  • duct tape
  • scissor
  • glue and/or glue gun
  • (compass)

Cutting the Cardboard

Firstly, I cut the cardboard which goes to the base of the game.

I used a compass to draw the outline of the shapes (circle), this part should be strong enough to be the base, so I made two pieces to strengthen the board/base.

The next shape would be corn. As I will curl the cardboard to make a corn shape, I curl up the cardboard beforehand to make it soft so that it will be easy to curl at the end, since the cardboard is hard to even hold.

Making Objects

Next, I make the objects that go onto the base.

I chose the (big) beads with various different sizes and weights, and instead of just using them as it is, I use another set of three different color papers to make corn, pyramid, cube, and cylinder. And I put the different sizes and weights of the beads inside each object (they have to be correspondent to each shape and bead)

For me, the blue ones have the biggest beads, the pink ones have medium, and the orange ones have the smallest beads.

Setting Up the Base

Once I made these two shapes in step 1, I decorate the circle part with three different color papers so that we can have different areas to indicate different points that make the game more interesting! (game rules are on the last step)

Then the point of bringing these shapes together is that I had to cut the tip of corn in order to stabilize the base (circle).

The way I did is paste one of my smallest beads (which size best fits the tip of corn) to the back of the base, and by placing the beads in the cut part of corn, the two shapes are being stable but not too much.

Done!!

Done, set up the bases and the objects, and get ready to play with this!

Basic RULE of this game:

This game has two ways to play, if all the objects are on the base and no one loses balance, then we can take the object from the base instead of putting them.

  1. We set up the base and put the objects on the plate to make it balanced
  2. Everyone picks one object from the base by using a magic hand.
  3. Keep doing this in order, and if a person cannot keep the balance and starts to drop the objects, this person will be lost.

Extension. You can another way to play the game - take ones from the base.

Use the point sheet attached to the last picture to count your points!
