I bet there has been a time that you have burnt cookies or they've turned out the way you didn’t want them to. I know I have been there way too many times. I used to bake with my grandma all the time. Over the past few years, I've been getting better and better at following my instructions. Sometimes the instructions aren't enough information or they can be confusing. By following my instructions you will get soft and chewy cookies. Today you're gonna learn how to make chocolate chip cookies like Nestle Toll House.

Go to Local Grocery Store

So to get started you’ll need to head to your local grocery store, whether it be Walmart, HyVee, County Fair, etc. You will want to go over to the baking goods section. To get soft and chewy cookies you’ll need to get 2 sticks of unsalted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, all-purpose flour, baking soda, coarse salt, pure vanilla extract, Large eggs, a bag of chocolate chips, parchment paper or PAM spray, baking/cookie sheet.

Measure Your Ingredients

Now to put all of your ingredients together to get the cookies you desire. I will list the measurements of the ingredients: 2 cups chocolate chips, 2 teaspoons of pure vanilla extract, 2 large eggs, 2 sticks unsalted butter(softened) 2 ¼ cups of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of brown sugar, ½ cup of granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon coarse salt, ½ teaspoon baking soda. Before you start to mix your ingredients you will want to preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

Start Mixing

COMM Class

While you are waiting for your oven to get to the full temperature. I suggest getting out two mixing bowls and a baking/cookie sheet (size does not matter). Spray the sheet with PAM spray or lay the parchment paper down. Now time to grab those ingredients and start mixing. Grab the first bowl and pour your two measurements of flour and baking soda into the bowl. Whisk the flour and baking soda together. Grab your second bowl, butter, and both sugars. Beat the butter with both the sugars until it is fluffy. Then beat in the salt, eggs, and vanilla into that bowl. Mix in the flour and baking soda from the first bowl into the second bowl. Once it is combined stir in the chocolate chips.

Place Cookies in the Oven

After you have mixed all the ingredients you'll grab your baking/cookie sheet and make tablespoon-sized balls and place the dough onto the sheet. Have the dough 2 inches apart from each other. Once you have completed that, put the sheet into the oven for 8 to 10 minutes or until the cookies are golden around the edges but still soft in the middle of the cookie. After that time is up or cookies look golden, take the sheet of cookies out of the oven and set the sheet onto a wire rack and let the cookies cool. You have now made cookies like Nestle Toll House.

Enjoy!
