Baking Soda Reinforcing Glue Repair
Super glue its an amazing tool to have on any toolbox, the applications are virtually unlimited.
Making the perfect tool to repair plastics and other things, the idea for this project is taking this tool to the next level.
One of the common repair to do is filling an reinforcing pieces, cracks, holes and gaps.
On this project i will show you how to grab a simple ingredient like baking soda add to the glue and create a super bond.

Gather the Material
You will need for this project:
- Baking Soda
- Super Glue
- Masking Tape
- Pen Cap
- Metal File
Get Started
The first step is checking if the piece that you want to fix is clean so that the glue stick to it.
For example if you want to filli a gap, grab the baking soda and filli that gap, if you want you can build up layer by layer.
Then apply the super glue on top of the baking soda, you will notice that the small grains of the baking soda will soak super fast the glue and also cure making a rock solid bond.
Last step will be filing to shape, and if you whant paint also.
Final Thoughts
This is a very cheap hack to reinforcing an filling a fragile piece, works also with other materials.
You can also use this to cure really fast super glue.
